This may not be what you want for mounting on your truck.Looks a little redneckie, but it works, and thats what ham , Shortwave radio is about. IMPROVISE, INVENT. The Idea is here for for expansion. Remember----->>>>NECESSITY IS THE MOTHER OF INVENTION!!!!! If you have any other way to mount this antenna, let us hear about it.or goto the dx-1,in the groups page on yahoo and post it...and share it with others!
I wanted something that was cheap and would not cost me a dime, that I could use to mount the DX-1 to my 1964 Ford Pickup truck that I use for everything, from moving, to trash hauling, to going out to the woods and setting up for DXing the Ham Bands, and Shortwave bands and use my tailgait as a Table to put my radios and my cook stove on and hang a coleman latern from the rear door of the canopie and then when I get tired I can crawl inside the Canopie and go to sleep or get out of the rain and wind. I have a 2 2X12 that I use to put accross the top part of the truck sides and put the radios and camp stuff on it and with a HEAVY Pillow I can DX for hours, Its a Cheapway to go camping but its fun. I made the Mount for the DX-1 OUT of scrap Wood . I have a good ground on my truck canopie so I don't need ground Radials. Works Fine with the Antenna tuner.
